Homebrand Triple Blade Razor Review

August 6th, 2009 by admin

If you’re anything like me, you’re not willing to compromise when it comes to a great shave. Nothing beats it and there is nothing worse than razor rash, cuts or nicks. If you won’t touch disposables then read on because you will be as surprised as I was to find these great Homebrand Triple Razors.

I was very happy with the Mach 3 though it is rather expensive when compared to cheaper razors and given the cost of the newer models, I never moved up to the Fusion line of razors. I have tried other razors in the same price category such as Schick but I always reverted back to the Mach 3.

What can I say? They’re a great razor.

In the past few months Homebrand have released a triple razor I would say is their equivalent to the Mach 3 razor.

Now these are nothing like the cheap and nasty disposable razors that you see in bags of 20 for a few dollars in the supermarket. They are arguably superior to Mach 3 razors at a quarter of the cost.

In a pack of Homebrand Triple Razors you receive 2 razor blades, the razor handle and a plastic home to keep your new razor and refills all together.

The razor handle is very simple yet still manages to stay classy. It fits in your fingers quite comfortably and I find the shape of it superior to the Mach 3. Much of the handle is rubberised which helps to maintain grip and allow for better precision and handling.

The razors are quite sharp and have an Aloe vera coating above the first blade to soothe your skin as you shave. I have found the razors to have the same life as Mach 3 razors. You’ll be pleasantly surprised to find out the blades are made in the USA.

Personally they last me 7-8 shaves before I replace them which is the same experience I had with Mach 3. Your own preference for what is too dull will provide you with an idea for how long the blades will last before needing replacment.

The plastic hold for your razor and refills is plastic and nothing too flash but this is easily passed over given you’re not using it to shave with anyway. It’s a home for your razor and refills and it does this job fine.

Refills come in packs of 8 for roughly $10. Given a pack of 4 Mach 3 razors sell for $15-20 this makes for great savings without sacrificing on quality.

Something you may find amusing is that I did not purchase this first hand until after I had used them. Someone else purchased them and duped me into believing they were a new line of Schick razors which I believed. It just goes to show that sometimes the packaging has very little to do with the product inside.

I found Homebrand Triple Blade Razors to be Above Expectation and I’m happy to call it my new razor.

9 out of 10.
